Masunaga has it’s home in the frame manufacturing district of Fukui in Japan.  Many of the artisans in the factory are from multi-generational families of frame creators. The creator of the Masunaga brand, Gozaemon Masunaga, was instrumental in bringing the best artisans from Tokyo and Osaka to his factory in Fukui to bring this brand to life.

In the Masunaga factory in Japan, only the finest titanium and acetate materials are used in the 200 step manual manufacturing process. Masunaga uses a unique barrel polishing system, whereby they hand file the backside of the frame front or temple edges.
