Dr Daniel Tracton

At Tracton Optometrists, your eye health is led by our Principal Optometrist, Daniel Tracton. Daniel isn’t just a clinical expert; he’s a dedicated healthcare professional who believes that the best vision care starts with a strong personal relationship.
A highly qualified clinician, Daniel graduated with an Honours degree in Optometry from the University of NSW (1995) and is certified in Ocular Therapeutics. This advanced qualification allows him to diagnose, manage, and treat a wide spectrum of eye conditions, including the prescription of therapeutic medications.
Daniel brings world-class expertise to every examination, honed by nearly a decade working in global research and development for OPSM parent company. His work involved research and developing the latest lens and contact lens technologies, giving him an unparalleled understanding of complex optical solutions and superior product quality.
He is a recognised specialist in complex cases, including:
- Children’s Vision: Ensuring proper visual development and recommending and managing myopia control options when clinically indicated.
- Complex Contact Lenses: Fitting specialty lenses for conditions like keratoconus and high astigmatism.
- Complicated Prescriptions: Solving unique visual challenges for optimal clarity and comfort.
Daniel believes in holistic care—taking the time to understand your overall health, lifestyle, and history—to ensure you are an active and informed partner in your long-term vision health. He also works closely with leading Ophthalmologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes for co-managed care.
