The family patriarch, Hyman Moscot, travelled the well worn path from Belarus and arrived in New York in the late 1800’s. He began his journey by selling spectacles from his mobile optical cart in the Lower East side of New York city. Masunaga eyewear is of the finest quality and detail, each piece being a work of art.  It was conceived in Japan in 1905, honing their craft to the highest standard. Masunaga has it’s home in the frame manufacturing district of Fukui in Japan.  Many of the artisans in the factory are from multi-generational families of frame creators. The creator of the Masunaga brand, Gozaemon Masunaga, was instrumental in bringing the best artisans from Tokyo and Osaka to his factory in Fukui to bring this brand to life.

In the Masunaga factory in Japan, only the finest titanium and acetate materials are used in the 200 step manual manufacturing process. Masunaga uses a unique barrel polishing system, whereby they hand file the backside of the frame front or temple edges. This process is instrumental in providing the exceptional comfort of each Masunaga piece. Masunaga prides itself in a limited release manufacturing technique, with unique etchings on the temple tips and other locations on the frame body.

Bringing Japanese artistry to Bondi Junction, Tracton Optometrists, we are proud to stock the limited release Kenzo Takada Masunaga products, designed by one of Japan’s most revered designers, Kenzo Takada amongst our collection of Masunaga. The pieces are bold and elegant.

Orgreen was born in Copenhagen in the late 1990’s, and since then has been producing exceptional quality product that stands the test of time. Orgreen is the brainchild or Henrik Orgreen, originally creating sunglasses, then extending the range to optical in 2002.

While they are designed in Denmark, their handmade frames are made by artisans in Japan. Combined with their Danish design ethos Orgreen products are characterised by the love of detail, precision and longevity.

Orgreen titanium eyewear offers the sophisticated use of colour, simplicity and comfort. The frames incorporate lightweight titanium and beta titanium material delivering extraordinary comfort. It is rare to see so many different colour combinations in a titanium product, the 300 colour combinations in Orgreen titanium spectacles are creative and diverse.

Taking its pedigree from the legendary vehicle manufacturer that was born in 1922, Jaguar optical and sun collections are known for their superb comfort, style and lightweight strength.

Manufactured in Germany by legendary frame manufacturer Menrad, the frames utilize cutting edge spectacle technology to create sporty prescription frame and sun pieces. Many of the frames incorporate titanium and acetate materials with exceptional tensile strength. The acetate materials are manufactured with a material called Ultem, which makes Jaguar glasses up to 45% lighter than other acetate frames.

This bold independent Mediterranean eyewear brand from Barcelona creates colourful designs with the highest quality natural acetate.

Created by designer David Pellicer in 2001, it is a unique offering in the eyewear market. He had been inspired by his grandfather, Fulgencio Ramo, who had worked in a sunglass factory in Barcelona.

When you hold a piece from Etnia Barcelona, you invariably discover a unique shape, texture incorporated into the acetate, bright and vibrant colours..

Using the best quality Mazzucchelli acetate, the quality is simply exceptional. Classic French brand Paul and Joe produce spectacle frames which are well known in France and surrounds. Launched by designer Sophie Albou in 1995, she named the brand after her  children, Paul and Joe.

Their range spans sunglasses, unisex optical frames and a diverse and wide range of funky kids frames. Their classic acetate and metal frames stand the test of time and are known for their durability and classic styling. From eclectic metals to bold coloured plastics, Paul and Joe is refined, classy and cultured.
