Tracton Optometrists stocks a wide range of low vision aids and welcomes referrals for low vision consultations from ophthalmologists, optometrists and other allied health professionals. Low vision aids can often improve one’s quality of life and help maintain patient’s independence. During a low vision consultation at Tracton Optometrists, we will trial a variety of low vision aids to determine the most appropriate and beneficial option, particularly in cases of macular degeneration and glaucoma, where spectacles may no longer be adequate for distance and/or reading needs.
Some of the devices we stock include; hand held magnifiers, pocket magnifiers with and without illumination, clip on loupes, telemicroscopic glasses, hand held telescopes, magnifiers with a fixed stand to assist with dexterity and desk top magnifiers. We can also source screen based devices which may assist in fine tasks.
