GLAUCOMA

GLAUCOMA

Glaucoma is a condition that causes progressive loss of vision from the periphery of the eye and moves towards the area of central vision. It often results from high pressure in the eye, but sometimes from other causes. We carry out a glaucoma test to measure the pressure in the eye, we also look at the retina and optic nerve for signs of glaucoma and can test peripheral vision with a visual field analyser.

The progression of glaucoma can often be managed with prescription eye drops or other treatments so it is essential to diagnose this condition early. We can refer patients to specialist ophthalmologists to treat glaucoma, and work closely with Ophthalmologists to co-manage this condition.
