DIABETIC RETINOPATHY

Diabetic retinopathy occurs when high blood sugar damages the fine blood vessels in the retina. It can lead to blindness but if diagnosed early we can refer patients to an ophthalmologist or medical practitioner for management and treatment. We recommend routine retinal photography and review for people with diabetes.
